Foundation 1945

Every pilot knows it: the artificial horizon in the airplane cockpit. Our founder and electrical engineer Dr. Heinz Müller was a member of the team which developed the artificial horizon, which is nowadays a technical standard. Founding his own company later in 1945, he named it in memory of this invention: "horizont".

Since the foundation of the medium sized in 1945, the brand horizont stands for premium quality - for 75 years now! Our innovative products are developed according to the latest technical standards. Main production steps for the manufacturing of electronic components and for almost all products made of plastics are carried out in our production facilities in Germany.

Today the horizont group consists of a network of several companies, each one a specialist in its respective business segment. Currently, more than 500 people are employed within the horizont group. The central distribution and logistics are carried out in the headquarter in Korbach - in the heart of Germany. A positive expansion in the field of traffic safety was the integration of "Klemmfix GmbH" in the year 2000. Their line of products for the passive traffic control perfectly complemented the well-known product range of "horizont Signaltechnik". In 2017 the integration of "Müller Verkehrstechnik", a mayor German manufacturer of signboards, completed our range.
